DC comics for August 2012: this is going to be a short one. Only one cover for my selection from this month’s solicitations because I am one of those people who won’t be buying Before Watchmen or even posting images related to it, despite the fact that some talented artists are producing artwork for it. Therefore, this is the cover for Legends of the Dark Knight: Alan Davis hardcover, drawn by Alan Davis (obviously), which is a collection of various Batman comics drawn by Davis from early in his career. And that’s all.
Bat-family! so here’s the whole lineup for those who missed any of them. let me know if there’s anyone you’d like to see that’s not here.
btw, Tumblr fans are amazing. I’m loving all the support. thanks everyone.
This is Batman, drawn by Jim Lee, inked by Travis Charest, which will be auctioned at Big Wow Comicfest 2012 (as posted by Charest himself).
This is the variant cover to Batman #9, drawn by Dale Keown, as revealed at The Source. Keown’s style sells the image, which is a very basic Batman visual, but in a good way.
This is the cover to the limited edition hardcover for the Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide#42 (to raise money for The Hero Initiative), drawn by the awesome Matt Wagner (via CBR).
This is ‘Batmobile: Choose Your Ride’, one of three prints by Graphitti Designs done for WonderCon. Love the design. [Via The Source]
This is the cover to Batman Incorporated #1, drawn by Chris Burnham [via The Source].
Another visual discovered via Comics Alliance Best Art Ever (This Week): this is a great Superman and Batman visual by Adam Hughes. I love the great design element, splitting the two into the dark and the light, and the way that the bats become birds in the Superman half. This is the cover for Superman #710.
DC comics for February 2012: this is the cover to Batgirl #6, drawn by Adam Hughes. Another snow-based image, but it only highlights the characters in black, beautifully illustrated as always by Hughes.
Because I found it so hard to choose between his designs when deciding which to post yesterday, here is another great visual by Grégoire Guillemin, this time an art deco Batman.
The Source has the Batman group solicits for December 2011. This is the cover for Batman #4, but I can’t work out who is supposed to have drawn it. The information says that the cover is drawn by Mike Choi, but the signature looks like Capullo as in Greg Capullo, who is on interior art. I really like the design of this visual, so I’m going to have to decide: I’m going to have to go with Capullo.
This funky visual of Batman’s Rogues Gallery by Bob Strang is called We’re All Batsy In The Belfry. [via nerdbastards.com]
The team-up that needs to happen: Spacetime’s Finest by dryponder. Brilliant. [via the Doctor Who Official on Tumblr]
