DC comics for August 2012: this is going to be a short one. Only one cover for my selection from this month’s solicitations because I am one of those people who won’t be buying Before Watchmen or even posting images related to it, despite the fact that some talented artists are producing artwork for it. Therefore, this is the cover for Legends of the Dark Knight: Alan Davis hardcover, drawn by Alan Davis (obviously), which is a collection of various Batman comics drawn by Davis from early in his career. And that’s all.

There are so many lovely images sitting on my computer that I would like to share with y’all, however most of them have yet to be previewed or even mentioned by the publishers that have commissioned them so I am unable to let u feast upon their chromadelic goodness for a while. This one, however, has just been previewed by DC Comics. It’s the variant cover to The Shade issue 9 (which I have also drawn the interiors for) and will be published shortly (as of this typing). I’m quite proud of it because of reasons. I hope some of you like it too (and then go buy the comic/legitimate digital download).

This is the Bryan Hitch variant cover for Action Comics #10, which looks really good [via The Source].

This is the gatefold drawn by Jim Lee in the middle of the DC Free Comic Book Day. I do like a widescreen image.

This is the variant cover to Batman #9, drawn by Dale Keown, as revealed at The Source. Keown’s style sells the image, which is a very basic Batman visual, but in a good way.

DC comics for July 2012: this is the cover for the hardcover 100 Bullets Deluxe Edition #3, drawn by Dave Johnson, a man who knows how to use white space in a cover.

DC comics for July 2012: this is the cover for Fairest #5, drawn by Adam Hughes. He can certainly draw beautiful visuals, can’t he?

DC comics for July 2012: this is the cover for Night Force #5, drawn by Leonardo Manco. He’s the man you choose if you want to have a detailed visual with occult overtones.

DC comics for July 2012: this is the cover for Justice League Dark #11, drawn by Ryan Sook. It’s a shame he’s so good at covers because it means that he doesn’t draw as much inside the books.

DC comics for July 2012: a smattering of interesting visuals from this month’s solicitations. JH Williams is drawing some beautiful covers at the moment, which really stand out from the rest of the covers of the DCNu. This is the cover for Batwoman #11.

DC comics for June 2012: this is the cover for Spaceman #7, drawn by Dave Johnson, who is a phenomenal cover artist. Men in spacesuits with six-shooters against a city wasteland is a great visual.

DC comics for June 2012: this is the cover for Dial H #2, drawn by Brian Bolland. I love the juxtaposition of Bolland’s exquisite craftsmanship with the wonderfully oddball content of the visual. 

DC comics for June 2012: this is the cover to Batwoman #10, drawn by JH Williams. Williams can always be relied on to draw an amazing cover visual that uses his style and design elements to create a compelling image.

DC comics for June 2012: this is the cover to DC Universe Presents #10, drawn by Ryan Sook. I don’t know what the book is about based solely on the cover, but I love the design and Sook’s style; weirdly, I really like the way he draws eyes.
