Here’s Bill Sienkiewicz’s painted cover to NEW MUTANTS #31.
From the Covered blog, this is a reinterpretation of the cover for New Mutants #98 by Patricio Oliver. A very nice piece of design.
Art Adams theme: a special cover, combining both the X-Men (in X-babies form) and the New Mutants (in imagined grown-up form), this is X-Men Annual #10.
Art Adams theme: one of my favourite series was Chris Claremont’s New Mutants, and Art Adams drew one of the best interpretations of the characters, so this cover to New Mutants Forever #2, with the great drawing of Warlock, is a nice reminder.
This is the cover to X-Men Unlimited #43, drawn by Bill Sienkiewicz, a visual I came across recently. I think this was the last New Mutants story written by Chris Claremont (which is also drawn by Sienkiewicz), and my nostalgia overwhelmed me and I had to post it.

New Mutants 21 (High res)| Bill Sienkiewick
Nostalgia overwhelms me. A wonderful cover (by the hard-to-spell Bill Sienkiewicz) that takes me back to my youth.
I was talking about my nostalgia over seeing Warlock on the cover of New Mutants the other day, so this daily doodle by Skottie Young obviously connected with me. And it’s just a doodle …
Marvel comics for November 2011: the nostalgic glee that overwhelms me when I see a smiling Warlock as a car in this visual … Jason Pearson brings the funny on this great cover for New Mutants #33.
Marvel comics for October 2011: a few of the interesting covers from the solicitations. The first to catch my eye was this cover for New Mutants #32 by Jason Pearson, just because it’s nice to see his funky style on some of my favourite characters.
When looking for the source of the Bill Sienkiewicz visual yesterday, I came across this image (from Jason Shayer’s blog, Marvel Comics of the 1980s). It is a Sienkiewicz commission of the New Mutants from the 1980s, and it brought a smile to my face, so I had to post it.
THE NEW MUTANTS- Best of luck to my good friends at DC and all their new projects, but now’s it MARVEL time! Here’a quick sketch that’s actually my first New Mutants drawing ever. The Sienkiewicz/Claremont run was comic gold. That kind of storytelling these days would blow people’s minds.
Dear Marvel, please put Phil Noto on a New Mutants book NOW! Because this is awesome.
