A collection of vital visuals, daily, centred on comic books and cinema. Because their beauty must be preserved.
Marvel comics for July 2012: this is the cover for Avenging Spider-Man #9, drawn by Terry Dodson, which is a striking cover featuring the new Captain Marvel, with her powerful confidence as the bullets strike and the cheeky finger-wagging.

Marvel comics for June 2012: this is the cover for Defenders #7, drawn by Terry Dodson. This is hardly groundbreaking cover design, but Dodson’s style makes it stand out.

Marvel comics for May 2012: this is the cover for Defenders #6, drawn by Terry Dodson. I’m a sucker for a nicely designed cover with a group of superheroes, and this is one of those.

Marvel comics for April 2012: this is the cover for Defenders #5, drawn by Terry Dodson, who draws a damn good whale.

Marvel comics for February 2012: my choice of covers of from the solicitations (after all the Avengers trade paperbacks; is there a film coming out or something?). The first up is The Defenders #3. I like the use of headshots on a cover.

From New York Comic Con: more visual delights from the Marvel panels. This is the image connected to The Defenders (presumably the next cover) by Terry Dodson. Doctor Strange looks menacing and awesome.

Marvel comics for December 2011: this is Defenders #1 by Terry Dodson. Good on Marvel for giving Matt Fraction the opportunity to go crazy with a Defenders relaunch. I don’t know if it will work, but I’ll give it a try, mainly because Doctor Strange looks so awesomely cool in that costume.

SDCC 2011 news: Marvel will once again try to launch an ongoing series for The Defenders later this year. The chances of this succeeding are greatly improved by the creative team: Matt Fraction and Terry Dodson (who provides the cover to issue #1 above). I’m certainly intrigued by it, especially with Doctor Strange and Fraction writing Iron Fist again.

Marvel comics for June 2011: Terry Dodson draws yet another lovely cover for Uncanny X-Men, in this case issue 538. But you knew this already.

kandidkandor:

Emma Frost | Terry Dodson

This is a fantastic and funny sketch from Terry Dodson. I’m insanely jealous of his talent to make women look beautiful without it being tacky or sordid.

Another ‘process’ collection of images: Terry Dodson posts the stages of the creation of the cover for X-Men #7. The images here are the rough pencil stage, the mostly finished pencil stage, the final pencil stage, and then the inked stage (by his wife, Rachel Dodson).

Marvel comics for March 2011: Terry Dodson plus X-Men equals a good comic book cover. This is for X-Men #9, which is sexy and scary at the same time.

This is a cheat image: it is the cover to X-Men #7 by Terry Dodson from back in 2007, but it was used by both CBR and Newsarama to accompany the news that the X-Men will be teaming up with Spider-man in a mini-series to fight criminals so that people will like the X-Men. However, I thought the visual was too good not to post here.

Terry Dodson posted a list of pages of interior art from Uncanny X-Men #525; this was my favourite piece, harking back to the famous Days Of Future Past cover. Dodson draws good comics.
