About
A collection of vital visuals, daily, centred on comic books and cinema. Because their beauty must be preserved.
This is the other cover that caught my eye from the DC comics for April 2012: it’s the cover to the first Starman Omnibus, drawn by Tony Harris, which I include for nostalgia reasons. I’ve got all the issues, and it’s nice to see Harris’s style from that era.

DC comics for July 2010: I really like this cover to Justice League: Generation Lost #5 by Tony Harris. A nice mix of superhero and Russian propaganda styles.

Black and white theme: this is the pencils and inks to Starman Omnibus Volume 3 by Tony Harris. This suits the black and white theme because of Jack’s tattoos and The Shade, ‘the shadowy, shadowy man’, one of the best things James Robinson did with an old DC villain.

DC solicitations: the covers for Ex Machina are always well drawn and well designed by Tony Harris but they don’t always jump out. This image, the cover for issue 42, did jump out because it matched the skill of the art with the impact of luring the reader into paying attention.

I know I posted an Ex Machina cover recently, but this is allowable because it is specifically for the Comic Book Collection theme. Brian K Vaughan and Tony Harris have created an excellent, novel and interesting comic book series that continues to entertain. This is the Ex Machina Special poster by Tony Harris.

I’ve been enjoying Ex Machina, and I’ll be sad to see it finish at issue 50; so it was nice to see this image of Brian K Vaughan and Tony Harris as they appear in issue 40 of Ex Machina, via this CBR piece.

My comic book collection theme is back: Starman by James Robinson (and initially drawn by Tony Harris in his design heyday) was a breath of fresh air in the nineties, and the story of the legacy of the Starmen and Opal City was a delight. The image is the cover for the first trade paperback (I have the individual issues), an example of the cool artstyle of Harris.
